Nowadays, factories are moving towards automation, and safety inspections also focus on instruments; so have the salaries of instrument technicians increased as well? It’s probably because it’s still a supporting role with little visibility, right?
Rarity makes things valuable. With a large number of people and insufficient market demand, prices are low, unless one has exceptional skills.
In fact, there aren’t many good instrument technicians. It’s also true that working as an instrument technician is easier these days – when something breaks, it’s simply replaced without much need for repair. In the past, instrument technicians repaired circuit boards by themselves
Instruments cost money, while craftsmanship generates income; the salary is always lower than that of others. The instruments were treated poorly in the factory. That’s how it is in my factory. 1. The instruments are used in the manufacturing process, and they must be cleaned by themselves. Electrical and mechanical maintenance are different; I am only responsible for repairing motors and pumps, while hygiene is the responsibility of the process team. 2. For on-site instruments, the principle is that the process department is responsible, but they simply don’t care. Anything requires checking your instruments; even if it’s just a glass panel, if you can’t read the pressure gauge, you still need to look at the instruments. 3. For tasks where the process isn’t complete, as long as instruments are involved, they just ignore it and hand it over to the instrument team. 4. The person in charge of the process is even worse; tell him to contact the team leader to discuss a solution, and he will just say that the instruments aren’t working. Even when it’s time to leave work, for the handover tasks, they simply write in the handover log that the instruments don’t need to be dealt with. 5. They don’t let you go out to learn*, and if you’re asked to carry out repairs that you can’t do, then you’re useless. It’s a complete set of equipment whose specifications were determined by the process team itself; I don’t know what it is, how it works, nor do I have any instructions or wiring diagrams. I’m expected to carry out repairs – fixing it successfully is part of my job, but if I can’t do it, I have to go to my supervisor because I’m not competent enough with these instruments. 6. Safety requirements are becoming increasingly strict; it is required to obtain an operation permit before starting work. The workshop owners don’t care; try not to work then. The problem is that without a ticket to go to work, you get caught by the security guards and fined. 7, etc
The salary is low, the work is difficult, and the responsibilities aren’t clear. I’ve changed careers to work in electrical instrumentation now; I’m no longer working with instruments. I'm so tired!
Location: Huai’an, Jiangsu. Currently, most instrument workers earn between 4,000 and 6,000 yuan per month, with regular day shifts! :o:o:o
What’s the difference between electrical instruments and meters? Here, they’re the same! :Q
Yeah, what’s the difference between electrical instruments and measuring instruments?
Hehe, prices might even drop when compared
Now it’s all done through outsourced professional repairs; the certification required for instrument repairers has also been abolished, making this a job that’s no longer essential, with an even lower status. It’s good enough if the salary doesn’t go down.
Well, it seems that there is a demand for people with expertise in instrumentation everywhere, but the salaries offered are generally not very high, which makes it difficult to find such workers. Moreover, Instrument is not someone who can become proficient quickly; most of those recruited are students.
