Process Engineering Division – Instrumentation and Automation Section – Daily Topics – Topic No. 2020-11-29: Discussion question: 311. Are the salaries of instrumentation professionals in your organization high? How much attention is it given?
The salary is moderate; it’s higher than that in electrical, auxiliary workshops, and support units, and similar to the salary for those in the equipment field. However, it’s not as high as the salary for those in the process engineering field. The company’s management attaches relatively much importance to instrumentation and automation, but the workshops do not give it much attention.
Previously there were gauge technicians, but now they have been combined with electricians; maintenance work is considered an auxiliary role, and the income associated with it cannot compare to that of workers in front-line positions.
For positions of the same level, with identical benefits in terms of processes, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation aspects, no one complains.
