As the title suggests, can this type of linkage float switch shown in the image below (with two balls, each having a set of terminal connections, and each set comprising a common terminal as well as an open and a closed contact) be used in a sump pump? I want to cut off the float that comes with the sewage pump and install this vertical float switch instead, connecting the wires directly. I’m not sure if that’s possible Since the water collection pit is too shallow (270 mm deep) and not high enough for the submersible pump, the built-in float simply cannot stay afloat; that’s why I came up with this method. However, I think it’s not feasible to implement it, so I’m seeking advice from everyone.
It’s feasible; as long as the contact capacity is sufficient. If it isn’t, it may be necessary to install a level controller or an intermediate relay to increase the capacity

A level switch should have 4 wires: two for power supply, and the other two being the alarm dry contacts output by the relay. If there are such contacts, they should include normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) types. How to implement this depends on how the electrical control circuit of your submersible pump is designed. If the pump has a local control panel with start/stop buttons and indicator lights, but no other devices such as a local remote switching knob, then you simply need to connect the normally open contacts in parallel across the start button. Of course, it’s necessary to verify the behavior of the level switch – it should ensure that the NO contacts close at high liquid levels and open at low liquid levels. If the situation is reversed, then use the NC contacts to achieve the desired result. Furthermore, automation is not just about instrument automation; you need to learn electrical knowledge.
