The explosion-proof types of instruments are divided into two categories: intrinsically safe E*aIICT4 and flameproof Ex dIICT4. Intrinsic safety and explosion protection need to be separated; an intrinsic safety instrument, together with an intrinsic safety cable and a safety barrier, ensures that the circuit is completely safe. The explosion-proof measure for flame isolation is to limit the scope of the explosion. That is, in the event of a failure in the electronic device, it will ignite the combustible gases present in its surroundings (those that enter the enclosure during maintenance when the cover is opened), but these gases are contained within the explosion-proof enclosure and do not spread outward. Therefore, in most cases, it is not allowed to open the cover while it is powered on; power must be disconnected during maintenance.
