When using an EJA differential pressure transmitter to measure flow rate, is the pressure value displayed on the pressure gauge the same before and after taking the square root? It’s just the numerical value shown on the gauge
The on-site readings are the same; it’s just the transmission current that has changed
It depends on where you perform the square root calculation Is it the transmitter that performs the squaring, or is it the DCS? The on-site header can only display the measured differential pressure, not the value after taking the square root; therefore, this on-site display remains unchanged.
After taking the square root, a square root symbol appears on the LCD

The square-root output of Yokogawa’s EJA and EJX transmitters is limited to the analog signal being output, with no change to the measured value. On the display, there is a symbol that indicates whether the output signal has undergone a square-root processing inside the instrument; it is generally used for making selections when using differential pressure elements to measure flow rate. I couldn’t find the EJA display diagram; I found one for EJX, which the original poster can use as a reference. One thing that is certain is that the display unit on EJA’s dashboard is only pressure units, with no flow units; therefore, the dashboard cannot show the flow value calculated from the differential pressure. In other words, the displayed value cannot be shown in root-form.
