The client requires an electrostatic interlock control for the cylinder drawing process; in other words, a solvent is supplied to the cylinder drawing unit, and if electrostatic charge builds up, the valve and pump are automatically shut off as a result of this interlock. I use an electrostatic grounding controller. But the owner said that instruments are needed to measure the static electricity level, so as to enable interlocking based on that value. Have you come across any instruments that can measure static electricity levels? I wanted to use this type of image, but the owner thought it was used for measuring resistance and couldn’t show the amount of static electricity; they asked us if we had something that could measure static electricity levels, but I’ve been searching for a long time without finding any such device. Have any of the teachers encountered this?
Well, this owner is also an amateur – they won’t allow any static electricity to exist. If static electricity is released and causes sparks, it’s extremely dangerous. They even want to measure the level of static electricity
Guawazi, static electricity? What is measured is the voltage with respect to ground. If I had a high-quality voltmeter that could provide stable readings, with one terminal connected to the device and the other to ground, then it would be better to use several stable grounding wires, with one end connected to the device and the other to ground. In that way, any static electricity generated can be discharged through grounding, and thus it won’t remain. If the owner insists on allowing static electricity to build up without releasing it and insists on taking measurements, then let him do it.
Okay, I think when the measured resistance is low, the static electricity is conducted into the ground, and thus there’s no more static electricity. If the grounding clamps aren’t connected properly and the grounding isn’t done correctly, it seems safer to have an interlock system that prevents operation. Good grounding means there is definitely no static electricity, but the owner kept insisting on having a display showing the value, so I found one that can display the resistance value. Still not willing. :L
Even if he wanted to measure it, I don’t think I’ve found any instrument that can directly measure the static electricity level, so I’m wondering whether such an instrument exists. If he’s willing to spend money to have it added, that’s fine, but it seems such instruments haven’t been found.
Make a voltage meter with a 4–20mA output; ask the electrical team – there might be potentiometers of this type available. I used to sell that kind of stuff, things like AC voltmeters and DC voltmeters – those secondary meters. It’s difficult to provide a link specifically; you can search for \"Fujian Shangrun Intelligent Digital Voltage Meters\" – those are the square-shaped secondary meters. They are quite old-fashioned devices, now used in small-scale designs for projects that don’t involve control systems such as PLCs or DCS.
