I would like to ask everyone: when using a flow meter to measure steam, is it necessary to drain the condensate in the pressure tap regularly? Should there be condensate in the pressure tap under normal measurement conditions?
In normal measurement conditions, there should be condensate water inside the pressure tap tube, which is intended to protect the transmitter. The condensate water inside the pressure gauge tubes needs to be drained regularly; this process is known as drainage, and its purpose is to clean the pressure gauge tubes and valves in order to prevent blockages.
Companies can establish regular waste discharge plans based on the degree of contamination of the media, but there is no need to discharge waste frequently. Because the measurement will be inaccurate if the water inside is drained; it is necessary to wait for the condensate to fill the pressure gauge tube or to add water manually. Improper operation can easily cause the transmitter to be damaged by high temperatures.
