Hello, teachers! To measure the liquid level in a sealed container, a double-flange capillary level transmitter is used; according to conventional principles, as long as the calibration is done properly, the transmitter can be placed anywhere. But what problems will arise if it operates at a pressure higher than that on the negative pressure side for an extended period of time? I’m asking the teachers for advice! ! :handshake
I’m not a teacher; I’m just a laborer. On construction sites, transmitters are usually installed between two flanges. So far, no negative effects have been observed. Installing them at a position below the flange used for measuring positive pressure seems to be the most ideal approach. Installing it above the flange on the negative pressure side is uncommon and not recommended, mainly because it can lead to backflow of silicone oil, causing the diaphragm box to bulge and thus damaging the transmitter

It has no impact; as long as it is easy to maintain and use, that’s fine.
It’s not that it can’t be higher than the negative pressure side; rather, it depends on by how much. I can find calculation formulas in Chuanyi’s product manual. As I understand it, the positive and negative sides of a transmitter are normally under positive pressure; since the tank is currently empty, it must be under negative pressure. Prolonged exposure to such conditions is harmful to the diaphragm box, as it can cause it to bulge and deform.
The installation specifications require it to be placed below the positive pressure side; if this is not possible, it should be installed at 1/3 to 2/3 of the distance between the two flanges. It must not be installed above the negative pressure side, as when the pipe is empty, the negative pressure on the diaphragm box is subject to reverse pressure, which can easily cause damage to the diaphragm box. Additionally, during measurement, the displacement amount cannot be calculated based on normal installation conditions, resulting in measurement errors.
