Dear teachers: What level of accuracy do steam meters have? Any recommendations? Why does it sometimes seem like there’s a big difference, and it doesn’t feel accurate :(
The accuracy of steam meters is related to factors such as brand, model, and operating environment. By choosing brands and models with good quality and high stability, and by installing, using, and maintaining them properly, relatively accurate measurement results can be obtained. Common brands of steam metering instruments include ABB, Siemens, Rosemount, etc. When making a choice, factors such as the product features of these brands, quality certifications, and relevant user feedback can be taken into consideration to select a model suitable for one’s own application scenario. If the difference seems significant, it may be due to reasons such as the meter not being calibrated in a timely manner, incorrect use, or poor maintenance; in such cases, recalibration or maintenance is required. At the same time, during use, it is also necessary to follow the relevant operating procedures to ensure the accuracy of the steam meter. -

For measuring steam, orifice plate flow meters and vortex flow meters are commonly used.
If it is the superheated steam itself that is affected by pressure and temperature, it is normal for there to be differences
