Bottom-up installation can avoid this problem, as the gas flows together with the liquid, making it less likely for accumulation to occur in the flow meter. Furthermore, in some specific cases, an upward installation method is also used to take advantage of gravity to remove impurities. .
Vortex flow meter or electromagnetic flow meter
When installing vortex flowmeters and electromagnetic flowmeters, attention must also be paid to the installation direction. For vortex flowmeters, although they are primarily used for measuring gases or steam, there may be condensed liquid in the pipeline; installing them from bottom to top helps prevent liquid from accumulating in the measuring components, thus avoiding damage to the flowmeter and ensuring measurement accuracy. For electromagnetic flowmeters, which are typically used to measure the flow rate of liquids, there is no strict requirement regarding the direction of flow, as the measurement principle of these flowmeters allows the liquid to flow through the probe in any direction. However, to ensure stable measurements and prevent the effects of bubbles (if gas is present in the pipeline), it is recommended to keep the pipeline completely filled with fluid during installation, that is, in a fully filled state. During installation, proceeding from bottom to top can reduce the impact of bubbles on the measurement results; especially at low flow rates, bubbles are not easily carried away and may accumulate near the sensor, thereby affecting the measurement results. .
