What flow meter offers the best cost-performance ratio for measuring steam condensate? Currently, the customers on site are using electromagnetic flowmeters, but the flow data is too unstable with very large fluctuations!
Vortex flowmeters can be used for steam condensate, as they have good tolerance to temperature and pressure and offer a relatively high cost-performance ratio. If the electromagnetic flowmeter exhibits large fluctuations, it may be due to an unstable installation environment or fluid conditions; in such cases, considering optimizing the installation location or using a flowmeter more suitable for the characteristics of steam condensate might be advisable. .
The conductivity of steam condensate should not be high; using vortex flow meters is more appropriate for measurement
For applications where high precision is not required, rotameters can be used; they generally need to be installed vertically, although there are special versions available in Cologne that allow horizontal installation

Do not use electromagnetic devices for condensate handling. If raw steam is used without any additives, the conductivity of the condensate is very low, making it unsuitable for this purpose. Use vortex flow meters for the discharge of condensate from storage tanks, and use magnetic rotators for the direct discharge of condensed water
