GB/T 9948-2025 \"Seamless steel pipes for petrochemical and chemical plants\" has been approved and officially released, and will come into effect on January 1, 2026. The new version of the standard incorporates the following standards: 1. GB/T 6479-2013 \"Seamless steel pipes for high-pressure fertilizer equipment\". 2. GB/T 9948-2013 \"Seamless steel pipes for petroleum cracking\". 3. GB/T 24592-2009 \"High-pressure alloy steel pipes for polyethylene use\"; 4. GB/T 33167-2016 \"Stainless steel seamless pipes for industrial furnaces in petrochemical hydrogenation units\". The new GB/T9948 will incorporate the current standards GB/T6479, GB/T24592, and GB/T33167, among others, and will be renamed \"Seamless Steel Tubes for Petrochemical and Chemical Plants\".
In terms of chemical composition, compared with the previous version of GB/T 9948-2013, the requirements for the contents of residual elements in the steel, namely Cr, Mo, Ni, Cu, and V, are listed separately.
Compared to the previous version, the mechanical properties of steel pipes now include a new yield strength classification based on thickness； Added reduction of cross-sectional area ； Added test temperature for impact energy absorption.
