To ensure accurate measurements and the long-term stable operation of the equipment, please strictly follow the guidelines below when installing the guided-wave radar level gauge. I. Key considerations during installation – Avoiding obstacles inside the tank: The fundamental principle is that the installation location must be free from any fixed obstacles such as ladders, limit switches, heating coils, brackets, etc., located inside the tank. Ensure that the waveguide cable or probe does not come into contact with or get too close to these objects throughout its movement, in order to avoid interfering with the transmission of microwave signals ; Keep away from the feed inlet and sources of interference, and stay distant from the feed stream: Guiding wave elements (cables/rods) must not intersect with the material flow descending from the feed inlet. Material impact can damage the guided wave elements and generate intense spurious echoes. Maintain distance from the tank wall: Keep the probe at a distance of at least 300 mm, or more, from the tank wall (refer to the product manual for specific details), in order to reduce false reflections caused by the tank wall. Strictly comply with the requirements regarding blind zones: the maximum material level must not reach the top measurement blind zone of the instrument (which is usually located at a certain distance below the process connection). It is recommended to set the blind zone alarm threshold below the full level, in order to prevent signal loss or false alarms caused by material entering the blind zone. To ensure that the antenna is installed vertically, the transmission direction of the antenna or probe should be made as perpendicular as possible to the surface of the medium being tested. This ensures that maximum energy is reflected back to the receiver, thereby ensuring measurement accuracy. Safety and compliance (explosion-proof areas): Instruments installed in hazardous explosion-proof areas must comply with **relevant explosion-proof safety regulations. Grounding requirement: Explosion-proof instruments (usually with die-cast aluminum enclosures) must be reliably grounded when installed in explosion-proof areas. Environmental protection: Avoid direct exposure of the signal converter to strong sunlight (install a protective cover if necessary), and choose an installation location with minimal vibration. If countermeasures against interference cannot completely avoid obstacles or fixed interference, it is necessary to perform \"false echo learning\" (also known as interference suppression or empty tank calibration) in an empty tank condition, so that the instrument can record and ignore these fixed interference signals. II. Preparatory work before installation: Check the environment inside the tank to ensure that there are no interfering objects directly below the process connection (on the microwave transmission path). This is a prerequisite for ensuring measurement accuracy. Leave sufficient space to ensure there is enough working area around the installation location, facilitating installation, wiring, and future maintenance. The principle of multiple units coexisting: It is permissible to install multiple guided-wave radar level gauges on the same container. It is generally recommended to maintain sufficient spacing between them or install them at different angles in order to avoid mutual signal interference. Xi’an Dinghua Electronics Co., Ltd., established in 1992 and currently located in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, is a high-tech enterprise that specializes in the research and development, production, sales, and engineering services of radar level gauges.
