Have any of you sea friends used flow meters to measure the flow of the following media? Could you help recommend a type of flow meter for handshake? The specific parameters are as follows: Process medium, Pipe material, Pipe size, Operating temperature, Operating density, Measurement range. Dichloroethane: 316, DN40, PN16; Normal temperature, 1.235 g/cm3; 0-3 t/h. Biphenyl dibromide: 316, DN32; Jacket insulation required; 100°C, 0.93 g/cm3; 0-0.5 t/h. Toluene: 316, DN40, PN16; Normal temperature, 0.87 g/cm3; 0-3 t/h. Epichlorohydrin: 316, DN40, PN16; 30°C, 1.18 g/cm3; 0-0.5 t/h. Ethanol: 316, DN40, PN16; Normal temperature, 0.789 g/cm3; 0-3 t/h. Diethyl malonate: 316, DN40, PN16; Normal temperature, 1.1 g/cm3; 0-3 t/h. I suggest you consider smart turbine flowmeters, metal rotor flowmeters, and elliptical gear flowmeters
What is the state of the medium – liquid or viscous? If money isn’t a concern, go with a mass flow meter
Direction? For low flow rates, a rotameter is more suitable as it offers a good cost-performance ratio. A few hundred kilograms might still require neck reduction
For the flow rate range you specified, a metal rotor flow meter is the best choice, as it can display the readings remotely from the site. Other types of meters such as turbine or twin-rotor meters may require a constriction to achieve more accurate measurements. You didn’t specify the operating pressure; it is likely to be low. If the operating pressure is high, vortex flow meters or mass flow meters can also be used.
