What is the function of the safety valve for the burner cooling water return flow in a Texaco gasifier? What is the practical significance? Under what circumstances is it possible to take off? I’m a bit confused; please help

So is it basically not useful at all? This pressure is even higher than the pressure of the safety valve in the carbon scrubber, and once the burner burns through and the shut-off valve closes, the gasification furnace shuts down.

Yes, there is indeed still high-temperature, high-pressure gas present, but once the operation is stopped and feeding is halted, the pressure will drop immediately. Could it possibly rise a little before dropping again?
Where is the safety valve installed? If it is placed before the return water shut-off valve, it is likely designed to prevent a situation in which, in the event that the burner coil ruptures, accidental operation or internal leakage of the valves upstream and downstream of the cooling water could cause large amounts of cooling water to enter the furnace. The vaporization of this water would then increase the pressure inside the furnace. Generally, however, this valve might not be needed.
The safety valve is installed on the pipeline that serves as a bypass to the return water shut-off valve.
I used to just see it without thinking much about it; now I really don’t know in what situations it’s used.
I feel the same! The key issue is that the setting pressure of this safety valve is quite high; it’s not clear what purpose it serves
From the perspective of the system itself, the safety valve of the water scrubber has a much lower set pressure. Even if there is cross-flow due to high pressure in the vaporizer, it is the water scrubber that activates to release pressure. It is only possible to use it if the effect of the pump is taken into account and its head is too high. Personal considerations
I agree with the previous statement; generally, venting through a carbon scrubber tower is sufficient. However, the setting pressure of this safety valve is not much lower than the pressure in the carbon scrubber tower – only by about 1 kilogram – and the pump’s head is satisfactory; yet the pressure at the pump outlet is far too low compared to the setting pressure, so it’s probably not a problem with the pump
