Are there any successful cases where the flow rate of high-temperature syngas in a gasifier can be measured? 800 degrees, with fly ash and tar; the precision cannot be too low. Is there any supplier that can provide a solution?

Use fixed-bed gasification, and see if ultrasonic flow measurement can be applied. This method was used in the past for catalytic cracking flue gases with high solid content, but its accuracy isn’t very good; it can be used to determine trends. Another crude approach is to use an inert gas as an internal standard, which improves accuracy

It seems that using ultrasound to measure gases allows only the determination of velocity; the mass cannot be obtained directly. A rough measurement can be made only by employing radiation-based methods for density measurement, along with components for temperature and pressure compensation. For high-temperature measurements, there are only a few companies in the world that can manufacture reliable ultrasonic velocity meters and densitometers, and the investment required is certainly high (much more expensive than mass flow meters).
