In recent years, many ramming coke ovens have adopted the smoke-free coal charging technology using high-pressure ammonia water (negative pressure in the chamber method), achieving excellent economic benefits and environmental advantages. However, the automatic control systems used for these ovens mainly focus on automatically controlling and regulating the flow of gas – that is, adjusting the pressure in the gas collection pipes. Such control systems largely ignore the core aspect of this technology, which is smoke-free coal charging, and this becomes a fatal flaw that undermines the long-term stability of this technology. At present, many coke ovens that utilize this technology have shown the adverse effects caused by this fatal flaw: in the initial stage, both the treatment of coke oven dust and the stability of the collector pipe pressure were satisfactory, but over time, although the collector pipe pressure remained stable, the problem of smoke emission during coal charging in the coke ovens became increasingly severe, turning into a persistent issue. Friends, if anyone has good governance methods, please actively participate in the discussion.
I don’t understand; what exactly is the fatal flaw? ?

The smoking phenomenon during coal charging in coke ovens is becoming increasingly severe
There is no good solution other than increasing investment in dust removal equipment
At first, the effect was good, but later it turned into a fatal flaw. It’s necessary to carefully analyze the reasons – whether it was a change in the operating conditions or deformation of the equipment. Since the effect was good in the initial stage, we should strengthen maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Add a smoke collection hood, connect it to the coke oven fan and send it to the main pipeline – this is what Tiantie No. 3 Gas Coke Plant and Jinmei Coke Plant do, and the same approach is used in the projects in Fangchenggang; it’s effective and also helps save money.
Strengthening the maintenance of furnace door equipment and the management of the coking process can help reduce smoking to some extent, but as environmental regulations become increasingly strict, the current approach mainly involves using covers for collection.
The gas collection pipe pressure automatic adjustment system cannot completely eliminate smoke during coal loading, especially smoke from the furnace door. To be effective, it is necessary to have a very high suction force; otherwise, it is not practical to ignore the oxygen content in the waste gas. Then the only option is to use equipment for dust removal on the machine’s focusing side. Also, do you mean that what you said about the good initial effect turning into a fatal flaw is nonsense? Was it at the start of operation of the single furnace with coal, or later on? Or has it been from when you began operations until now?
Change to coal truck dust removal. Dust removal while loading coal – this method is well used by Hu-Meng Coking.
Approach the issue from two aspects: 1. For the gas collection pipe automatic adjustment system, an automatic high-pressure ammonia water adjustment system can be added to take into account the relationship between oxygen content and the demand for high-pressure ammonia water at different times of coal loading, ensuring sufficient negative pressure while preventing the oxygen content from exceeding acceptable levels during coal loading; 2. Installing a dust collection hood on the machine side along with a dust removal station there is a relatively mature and reliable technique at present.
