It is reported that there are currently three chemical industry projects being promoted in Bijie City. The first is the 300,000-ton/year coal-based ethylene glycol project of Qianxi Chemical in Qianxi County, with a total investment of around 6 billion yuan. At present, 93% of the total construction work for the civil engineering has been completed, and the installation of the steel structure is almost finished ; 42% of the total prefabricated pipeline installation has been completed ; The equipment delivery rate has reached 88%, and equipment installation is approximately 78% complete; operation is expected to begin in October this year. The second is Sinopec’s 600,000 tons per year coal-based polyolefin project in Zhijin, with a total investment of around 20 billion yuan. At present, the **Ministry of Environmental Protection has approved the project’s environmental impact assessment report** ; Pilot site grading work has been carried out, and extensive preparations have been made for the actual construction of the project; substantial construction is expected to begin within this year. Third is the Guizhou Yufu Bijie 2 million tons per year coal-based clean fuel project, with a total investment of around 45 billion yuan. At present, the preparation and approval of supporting documents such as the project site selection opinion, preliminary land review, soil and water conservation assessments, and water resource evaluations have been completed ; The comprehensive project environmental report has been prepared to support the submission of the project’s environmental impact assessment to the relevant authorities. The supporting documents required for the environmental impact assessment, such as those related to site planning, waste dumps, and sewage treatment plants, have all received approval from the respective provincial, municipal, and county environmental protection departments ; The project’s environmental impact assessment report has been submitted to the Ministry of Environmental Protection for review, and feedback from that department has been received. The project owner and the relevant departments at the municipal and county levels are making the necessary revisions in accordance with those suggestions; it is expected that the report will be submitted to the Ministry of Environmental Protection again by mid-month. It is reported that the goal of Bijie City in building a new type of energy and chemical industry base is to reach an annual coal production capacity of 100 million tons by around 2020 ; The production of clean fuels from coal will reach 2 million tons per year, that of coal-based olefins will reach 600,000 tons per year, and that of coal-based ethylene glycol will reach 300,000 tons per year. The extraction and utilization volume of coalbed methane exceeds 1 billion cubic meters, with an utilization rate of over 80% ; The total installed power capacity reached around 18 million kilowatts ; Strengthen the construction of energy infrastructure, focusing on the development of the 500 kV AC transmission line from Bijie to Chongqing, and carry out projects to upgrade rural power grids. The Bijie Pilot Zone has advantages in terms of policy and resources for building a new energy and chemical industry base.
