Is the design capacity for coking calculated based on a full calendar year, or on 300 days of production time?
It is generally not calculated based on the full calendar year; maintenance time must be taken into account, usually 300 days, though some cases involve 330 days as well
Calculate it on a 365-day basis; I’ve seen the preliminary designs for several projects, and in all cases it’s 365 days
Just calculate based on 365 days; taking a coke oven as an example, the turnaround time includes both operation time and maintenance time. For example, in a coke oven with 50 chambers, the turnaround time is 25 hours (22 hours of operating time and 3 hours for maintenance). When calculating, 50 ÷ 25 = 2 chambers are produced per hour; thus, 50 ÷ 25 × 24 = 48 chambers are produced per day and night. Over the course of a year, this amounts to 50 ÷ 25 × 24 × 365 = 17,520 chambers. Or, considering the suddenness of accidents, a coefficient of 1.07 is generally applied for multiplication or division.
We calculate it based on 350 days.
