Gas temperature at the inlet section: 27–28°C; preheater temperature: 80°C; temperature of the mother liquor: 42°C. Gas temperature at the outlet section: 39–42°C. If the ammonia content in the gas behind the device is within the standard range (≤50mg/m3), it is considered normal. The main function of the ammonium sulfate unit is to remove ammonia from the gas.
Pre-desulfurization or post-desulfurization? I agree with the opinion from the second floor; if desulfurization is carried out beforehand, the ammonia in the gas is mainly used for desulfurization purposes, and it’s sufficient for the ammonia content in the gas after the saturator to be less than 30 milligrams per liter. If the poster wants to find a solution by operating from within the ammonium sulfate production section, they can raise the temperature of the mother liquor to 45-50 degrees; also, ensure that the tar content in the gas does not exceed 50 milligrams per liter. Tar in the full-flow trough should be removed frequently.
This temperature range indicates agreement. Regarding the effect of mother liquor temperature, no reliable evidence has been found. Logically, reducing the temperature of the mother liquor should facilitate particle growth and thus increase yield. It has not yet been determined what temperature range is most suitable.
Although the reaction is exothermic and lowering the temperature facilitates its progress, an excessively low temperature will slow down the reaction rate, causing the gas to exit before it has fully reacted in the confined space of the saturator.
Temperature affects the reaction rate as well as the size of the crystal particles. Therefore, the overall temperature needs to be considered comprehensively; a higher temperature is preferable.
At higher temperatures, the solubility of crystals is also higher.
Adding ammonia after vaporization can increase production
The crystallization of the substance is a continuous process; it’s just that the amount produced at the end decreases. This does not affect our normal production, as the production of ammonium sulfate results in costs and output being roughly equal.
It is also necessary to check whether the ammonia content before the saturator remains stable; the source of ammonia in the gas is limited. As long as the ammonia content after the device stays within the specified range, it is difficult to increase production.
