The ammonia nitrogen level in the ammonia-vaporized wastewater fluctuates; under normal conditions it can be below 100, while in abnormal conditions it can reach 400–500, and in some cases even 1000. These fluctuations go away after a day or two, and there are no issues with the operating temperature and pressure, nor is the pH level abnormal. The tower is a strip bubble column. Direct steam heating, with manual control of the steam supply to the tower. Is it related to the water supply pressure of the reducer?

The steam pressure fluctuations used to be like this; the liquid level wasn’t recorded in the control room, and the amount of caustic soda was normal. Later, more caustic soda was added. Recently, the coke ovens have been operating at reduced capacity, so the processing volume remains low. The tower is a new one that has just been installed, and it is said to have been cleaned with steam. It mainly means that if it’s normal, then it’s normal; if it’s abnormal, then it lasts for a day or half a day
Has the concentration of the ammonia source been checked? Has there been any change in the concentration of the liquid alkali?
1. Check whether there is any change in the pressure difference across the tower; an increase in this difference indicates flooding, which may result in poor performance of the tower bottom parameters. 2. Determine if there is a pressure difference when the tower is not operating properly; in the absence of such a difference, it may be due to too low a load, preventing the tray plates from functioning efficiently and leading to excessive wastewater levels. 3. Fluctuations in the steam pressure supplied to the tower can also cause the tower bottom parameters to be unsatisfactory. That’s about it; assuming that the ammonia nitrogen level in the feed material remains stable without any fluctuations
Is the water supply to your ammonia distillation tower stable? If it’s unstable, how is the amount of alkali solution controlled? If the flow rate is unstable, adding too little alkali solution won’t work either; production becomes unstable, and there are many problems associated with this, plus it’s difficult to identify the causes
For raw ammonia water, monitor and record the water quality and flow rate, as well as the steam pressure and flow rate; these data are sufficient for conducting operational parameter analysis
