For those who are just entering the chemical industry, where should they start? I hope experienced colleagues will kindly offer their guidance. At present, the focus is on learning *process technology.
To learn the steps, first study the production principles of system flowcharts, and then add content around each process. Once you have learned the working principle of individual units and the instrument interlocks at various control points, you can start working. After that, you can proceed to learn more about mechanics, chemical analysis, as well as instruments and electrical systems. Further on comes the scheduling and coordination of production management, as well as the principles of the company’s production systems and their coordinated operation. For those just starting out in chemical engineering and working on process development, it is recommended to focus primarily on the process itself*. 1. Safety studies*: identifying risks and knowing how to avoid dangers is very important; one should not stay in a company that does not provide adequate safety measures for long ; 2. Become familiar with the process to the point where one can gradually draw the diagrams by oneself and refine them step by step: such as the locations of key measurement points, the reasons behind the setup of key safety interlocks, and their functions ; 3. Familiarize yourself with the site: the layout of the pipelines, the locations of valves and measurement points, as well as the extent to which the valves need to be manually operated. This cannot be achieved without serious study for a year or two. On this basis, focus on daily operational adjustments as well as the tasks of other related specialties on a regular basis
