The proportion of central oxygen is generally between 15% and 20%, but this ratio can be increased appropriately when feeding material into the gasifier, reaching up to 30% in some cases. During system operation, the range for adjusting this proportion varies depending on the characteristics of the raw coal; it is usually between 10% and 25%, provided that there is no slag blockage. The proportion of oxygen at the center affects the length and width of the flame in the gasification furnace. When this proportion is low, the flame becomes wider and shorter, and the roof of the gasification furnace is prone to overheating. When the central proportion increases, the flame is stretched out, becoming longer and thinner; as a result, the flame zone moves downward, which can lead to overheating at the bottom of the furnace. This was determined by domestic burner manufacturers and through practical operation experience. However, GE’s findings are different – they are the opposite of this. The proportion of central oxygen in the flame distribution within the gasifier is also related to the operation of the burner.
