As the title suggests, we are seeking information on the corrosion issues affecting the pipes and equipment in crude gas shift units, as well as potential solutions; participants will be rewarded!
The changing device doesn’t corrode much; it’s quite good
The heat exchanger at the top of the stripping tower is corroded; it has been replaced with graphite, and the performance is quite good
In fixed-bed gasification conversion, condensation corrosion mainly occurs, especially at the non-flowing parts such as thermometers and pressure gauges; after condensation, substances like H2S, HCN, and HCl can dissolve, and crystallization is also likely to occur. In the petrochemical industry, electric heat tracing is used to prevent condensation-induced corrosion. We regularly replace the gauge and temperature probe tubes, shorten their length, and implement proper insulation measures.
It’s mainly corrosion of the heat exchanger; nothing else has been encountered
It needs to be cut out for inspection; there’s no very good solution at the moment. The design institute suggests replacing it with titanium material
No corroded pipelines have been found in the conversion unit for now; there are ones in the condensate pipeline
