Inner Mongolia Tonghui Tianke Gas Co., Ltd. reports that its facility capable of producing 200,000 tons per year of food-grade liquid carbon dioxide is now operational. It is understood that this project enables the effective recycling of carbon dioxide waste gas and achieves zero emissions of various types of waste, which is in line with the development direction of the policies related to such waste management. The project utilizes a production technology that combines adsorption with low-temperature distillation for purification; it features advanced processes, high-quality products, and reduced energy consumption. While recovering carbon dioxide waste gas, it also removes toxic and harmful impurities such as hydrocarbons and benzene. During its operation, no toxic or harmful waste gases or wastewater are emitted into the environment. Once the project is completed and put into operation, it will be able to recover 140 million cubic meters of high-concentration carbon dioxide waste gas each year, thereby reducing the emission of toxic and harmful gases such as hydrocarbons by 1.4 million cubic meters. The exhaust gas remaining after carbon dioxide has been recovered is sent back to the upstream methanol production system to be used as feed gas, achieving zero emissions of various waste types and turning waste into a resource, which directly improves the environment. A responsible official from Inner Mongolia Tonghui Tianke Gas Co., Ltd. said that the total investment in this project is 127 million yuan. Construction began in March of this year, trial production started in August, and full-scale operation commenced in September. It is a high-value-added supporting project for Ordos Hydrocarbon Energy Technology Company’s 120,000-ton methanol project. The project is expected to generate annual sales revenue of 91.75 million yuan and profits and taxes of 31.62 million yuan. It is understood that Inner Mongolia Tonghui Tianke Gas Co., Ltd. is a holding company of Chongqing Tonghui Gas Co., Ltd. The company was established in June 2020 and is located in the Qipanjing Industrial Park of the Ejin Horo Economic Development Zone. It uses the methanol synthesis decarbonization equipment provided by Ordos Hydrocarbon Energy Technology Co., Ltd. to remove high-concentration carbon dioxide emissions as raw material, thereby producing food-grade carbon dioxide and dry ice. It is a private enterprise specialized in the production of food-grade liquid carbon dioxide.
