Dear experts, what is the sulfur content specification for the regenerated methanol in low-temperature methanol washing at your facility? We are from Dalian University of Technology’s process engineering department; the specified limit is below 1 ppm, but currently the level has reached 6.9 ppm. Could anyone please advise on how to resolve this issue? Urgent! Urgent! Urgent! ! !
I’m just asking what good measures there are to remove sulfur, such as increasing the amount of steam used in thermal regeneration, etc. I’d appreciate it if experts could suggest some solutions.
I haven’t worked with it for many years and can’t remember exactly; I’m not sure if there are any issues with the analysis of the four-tower system. It might be worth increasing the steam reflux in the five-tower system to see if that helps. Otherwise, it would be necessary to clean and inspect the trays and reboilers in the five towers

We use Luchi’s semi-depleted washing process, with a target specification of less than 0.1 ppm, which has also never been achieved. If the sulfur content in the purified gas occasionally exceeds the limit, ammonia is discharged.
