Freezing of exhaust gas silencer in low-temperature methanol washing process

Our company vents the stripped off-gases at a high point; during cold winters, ice blocks occasionally fall from that height. I would like to ask if anyone among you is encountering a similar issue with their devices, and what would be the best way to deal with it?
Perhaps it wasn’t explained clearly before; the off-gases from the nitrogen stripping tower in the low-temperature methanol wash are vented at a higher point
Where are you from? I have not experienced the phenomenon you mentioned.
Isn’t the gas from the nitrogen stripping tower fed into the H2S concentration tower to recover H2S? Can environmental protection be achieved by venting?
You mean the exhaust gas scrubber, right?
This post was last edited by cuikk on 2018-1-17 at 22:25. The exhaust gas contains water after washing – this is due to an excessive amount of moisture in the liquid, which causes it to condense and freeze.
It is recommended to consider the gas flow rate, the amount of desalinated water used, as well as the liquid level in the scrubber tower
Our plant experienced this issue during initial operation, but it improved significantly after adjusting the amount of deionized water added
