In April, I quit my job in gasification and first joined a small private chemical company; later, I decided to start my own business. To investigate manufacturers of equipment, I traveled all over the country, met many people, and visited several cities. In the end, I wasn’t able to establish my business, but I reconnected with friends I hadn’t been in touch with for years. I traveled from North China to South China, but achieved nothing in the end. At the end of the year, I joined a professional driving service team with a few colleagues and friends, and we headed to the border to operate China’s first plant for producing ethylene glycol from natural gas. In the blink of an eye, 2017 became a memory forever. Right now, we have just started heating the furnace. As is the case with any new enterprise or new factory, management is chaotic, and there is a lot of confusion and disorder. We need to eliminate many human factors before we can focus on the manufacturing process. Fortunately, we have managed to do all of that. Early spring in southern Xinjiang is the perfect time for sandstorms. As the heating process begins at this time, to navigate these challenging conditions, comrades must redouble their efforts and take careful steps forward – victory is surely within reach. I hope that in three months we will be able to get the device up and running successfully, return to Sichuan, and then head to other places.
