On December 17, the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation regarding the construction of the 1.2 million tons per year coal-to-methanol project by Inner Mongolia Zhuozheng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. was held at Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. The people’s government of Wushen Banner, Inner Mongolia Zhuozheng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., and Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. have signed a framework agreement for cooperation regarding Inner Mongolia Zhuozheng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 1.2 million-ton coal-to-methanol project. The successful cooperation between Inner Mongolia Zhuozheng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. and Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. has facilitated the resumption of construction of the coal-to-methanol project in Wushen Banner, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons. This is of great significance for the high-quality development of the local economy, for the effective utilization of resources, and for optimizing the regional industrial structure. Before the signing of the agreement, the leaders of Wushen Banner and the heads of relevant departments who attended the signing ceremony held discussions with the officials of Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. The two sides exchanged views on resuming work on the Zhuozheng 1.2 million-ton coal-to-methanol project, as well as on cooperating in the construction of coal collection stations, thermal power plants, and power transmission lines, and reached a consensus. Inner Mongolia Zhuozheng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhengji Zhuoyue Group Co., Ltd. (Yijiahe Energy Co., Ltd.), registered in Inner Mongolia. The company is implementing a 1.2 million tons per year coal-to-methanol project in the Nalinhe Industrial Park in Wushen Banner, Inner Mongolia, with a total investment of 6.9 billion yuan and an area of 1,600 mu. In 2008, this project successfully obtained all the necessary **supporting documents such as project approval, environmental impact assessments, and land-related approvals. The construction of the area in front of the site has been completed, the underground pipeline systems and civil engineering works are almost finished, and the equipment ordering has been completed as well. The project was designed by Hualu Design Institute, and its progress has been slow due to a lack of funding. Yanzhou Coal Industry Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. was established in December 2009 with a registered capital of 8.1 billion yuan; it is the only entity invested and established by Yankuang Group in Inner Mongolia. In line with the development directions of \"park-based, high-end, and intelligent\" operations, an industrial layout of \"five mines and one factory\" has been initially established. Three pairs of super-large-scale mines and one coal chemical project have been completed or are under construction. There are two operational coal mines, namely Anyuan Coal Mine and Wenyu Coal Mine; the annual production and sales capacity for coal amounts to 30 million tons, while the annual capacity for chemical products is 600,000 tons.
