Reasons for the persistently high pressure difference in the methanol distillation tower
Too much liquid in the tower; imbalance in material handling; flooding
Could it be a problem with the tower internals, or is there a leak inside the reboiler?
Too much reflux; otherwise, inspect the tray
1) Check whether the pressure gauge is accurate and whether the level gauge is accurate. 2) Whether the feed to the distillation system is overloaded. 3) Is the atmospheric pressure column overloaded, and is the reflux ratio too high? 4) Whether the content of distillation residues is above the limit, and whether the removal of fusel oils is normal. 5) Check for internal leakage in the atmospheric tower reboiler. 6) Inspect the tray inside the tower.
