Southern Energy Builds Methanol and SAF Complex in the U.S

　　According to Sinochem News, on March 12, Southern Energy Renewables of the United States announced that it would invest $1.4 billion in building facilities for the production of green methanol and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in Louisiana. Leveraging the abundant local wood waste and biomass, as well as well-developed energy infrastructure, innovation systems, and technical expertise, this project produces clean fuels that have the lowest carbon emissions across their entire life cycle in the market. 　　The head of Louisiana’s economic development department said that the project will bring advanced fuel production and quality jobs to St. Charles Parish, expand the boundaries of the energy industry, and strengthen the state’s position in the U.S. energy landscape. This project is the company’s first commercial venture in the area, located near hydrogen supply and logistics hubs. The company is currently preparing to merge with carbon management firm DevvStream.
