On May 12, Xinjiang Haoyuan Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 100,000-ton-per-year biomass gasification to green methanol demonstration project was registered. Xinjiang Haoyuan Chemical Co., Ltd.'s photoelectric hydrogen production coupling resource clean utilization and low-carbon integrated project is the first investment project exceeding 10 billion introduced by Jimusar County. After the project is completed and put into operation, the abundant coal and solar energy resources in Jimusar and surrounding areas will be coupled and converted on-site to carry out clean and low-carbon utilization and develop diversified chemical products. The project is constructed in three phases: The first phase of construction includes coal gasification unit, gas purification unit, 400,000 tons/year synthetic ammonia production unit, 500,000 tons/year urine (intermediate product) production unit, 500,000 tons/year high nitrogen water-soluble compound fertilizer production unit, 200,000 tons/year diesel exhaust cleaning agent production unit, 120,000 tons/year melamine production unit, 100,000 tons/year food grade CO2 production unit, 20,000 tons/year electrolytic water hydrogen production unit and supporting auxiliary projects. The second phase of construction includes a coal gasification unit, a 400,000-ton/year synthetic ammonia production unit, a 500,000-ton/year urine (intermediate product) production unit, a 500,000-ton/year high-nitrogen water-soluble compound fertilizer production unit, a 200,000-ton/year diesel exhaust cleaning agent production unit, a 120,000-ton/year melamine production unit, a 100,000-ton/year food-grade CO2 production unit and supporting auxiliary projects. The third phase of construction includes a 100,000-ton/year green methanol production unit and a 20,000-ton/year electrolysis water hydrogen production unit. Xinjiang Haoyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd. It was registered and established in Jimsar County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang in September 2023. It is reported that the coal gasification device of this project adopts the semi-waste boiler HT-L pulverized coal furnace of the Aerospace Company, with a designed coal input of 2000t/d. The urea plant has a scale of 760,000 tons/year and adopts Wuhuan Company’s “high-efficiency synthesis and low energy consumption urea process”. The melamine plant has a scale of 120,000 tons/year and adopts Eurotech’s high-pressure liquid phase quenching process. In January 2025, the environmental impact assessment of the project was approved ； The project will start in March 2025.
