The ratio control loop is the core control loop of sulfur processing units; its stable operation enables the unit to cope with fluctuations in the quantity and composition of raw materials, while also improving the sulfur conversion rate in the Claus unit. This in turn helps to reduce the pressure on the subsequent exhaust gas purification systems. The new environmental regulations impose stricter requirements on the exhaust emissions from sulfur recovery units, thereby highlighting the importance of the ratio control system even more; the precise operation of such units relies heavily on the proper functioning of this ratio control system. After saying all this, has the ratio loop of your device been put into use? It hasn’t been put into use – what issues are preventing that? Please share; with steady operation, there must be many good experiences, right? Please share as well
Why is that said? To meet the new environmental standards, sulfur units must undergo upgrades and modifications. The most critical ratio control loops in the sulfur plant have not been put into operation; then what reason is there to install additional upgrading facilities?
It’s so embarrassing; I got the question wrong~~~ I thought it was a simple proportional control loop and didn’t notice the sulfur unit. I misunderstood the proportion control loop for feeding this mixed raw material~~~
No, it’s the feedforward-feedback control loop of the sulfur unit
We are not using it at the moment for various reasons; fluctuations in the feed gas are the main one. The composition of the gas also varies due to external factors, and the operating conditions of the facility are complex. There are also many issues with the instruments – for example, several PiBa transmitters have had to be replaced, and batteries have been substituted with power supplies. We are currently preparing an advanced control system. . However, data collection for various parameters is currently in progress.
