On July 23, the signing ceremony for the EPC contract regarding the gasification phase of Fujian Shenyuan New Materials Co., Ltd.’s second-phase project aimed at producing 400,000 tons of polyamide per year was held in Beijing. Tang Guohong, vice president of the First Academy of Aerospace and chairman of Aerospace Engineering Company, Zhu Yuying, deputy general manager of the company, Pan Debiao, general manager of Shenyuan New Materials, Gu Jun, deputy general manager, along with other leaders and representatives of various project teams, attended the signing ceremony. The project uses 2 space furnaces, with a contract value of 650 million yuan. Fujian Shenyuan New Materials Co., Ltd.’s Phase II project, which involves an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of polyamide – includes a hydrogen production unit with a capacity of 75,000 Nm3/h, as well as a ammonia synthesis unit with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons. The details and scale of the gasification system involved are: 15,4000 Nm3/h of (CO+H2) gas output. The scope of work under the contract includes the construction of the gasification facility for this project; tasks include, but are not limited to, project management, patent licensing, preliminary design and detailed design of the facility, supply of equipment and materials, construction and construction management, **approval processes, commissioning, and maintenance during the warranty period. Additionally, support is provided for joint testing and trial operations (including ensuring continuous operation during testing), until qualified products are produced, performance assessments are completed, final settlement is carried out, and the project is handed over upon completion. Shenyuan New Materials Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hengshen Group. The project involves the construction of an integrated polyamide production facility with an annual output of one million tons. It is located in the Kemeng Economic and Technological Development Zone in Lianjiang County, Fujian Province, and is expected to come online in June 2021. Once operational, Hengshen Group’s annual capacity for caprolactam production will exceed 1.5 million tons, accounting for approximately 30% of the global total capacity. Previously, Fujian Shenyuan New Materials Co., Ltd., which is part of Hengshen Holding Group, signed an EPC general contract with Huisheng Engineering and Aerospace Engineering for the construction of a 75,000 Nm3/h coal-to-hydrogen plant and a 300,000 tons/year synthetic ammonia plant; the value of this contract was approximately 1.4 billion RMB. The cooperation includes multiple process units such as gasification, air separation, low-temperature methanol washing, liquid nitrogen washing, and ammonia synthesis, along with the associated utility systems and auxiliary facilities.
