Zhongtai Coal Coking: Concrete pouring for the foundation of the first compressor in the 200,000-ton/year methanol production project from coke oven gas completed in one go Author/Source: Henan Petrochemical News Date: 2019-08-06 Clicks: 52 Recently, the concrete pouring for the foundation of the first compressor, one of the key equipment in Henan Energy’s Xinjiang Zhongtai Coal Coking circular economy integration project’s 200,000-ton/year methanol production project from coke oven gas, was completed in a single operation. This represents another major milestone in this project this year. It is understood that this compressor is a reciprocating compressor that generates significant vibration; therefore, no construction joints shall be allowed in the foundation concrete. Moreover, the foundation slab is made of mass concrete, requiring that it be poured in one go. Due to the hot weather, construction is challenging, with a tight schedule and heavy workload; therefore, the company formulated detailed construction plans and convened specialized personnel from the general contractor, supervisor, and construction units on multiple occasions to hold seminars focused on the construction of the compressor foundation. After 22 hours of continuous effort, the pouring of the concrete foundation for the first compressor was completed successfully, 8 hours ahead of schedule. It laid a solid foundation for the installation of the compressor equipment upon arrival. It is reported that there are a total of four such key pieces of equipment, with the other three currently being manufactured in an orderly and diligent manner.
