At 10:30 a.m. on December 12, the groundbreaking ceremony for Zhongyan Hongsi Fang’s expansion project to produce 50,000 tons of dimethyl carbonate per year was held in the western area. Leaders such as Gao Junling, head of the Technology Development Department at Zhongyan Hong Sifang, Shen Guanghai, project manager, Yang Wenchuan, director of the construction supervision office, and Shi Jing, manager of the Hefei branch of Sinochem Third Construction Company, the contractor, attended the opening ceremony. All members of the project teams from both sides attended the commencement ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhang Dexiang, the chief engineer of Sinochem Third Construction Hefei Branch. Gao Junling delivered a speech on behalf of the owners at the project kickoff, providing an overview of the project. He stated that all members of the project team would aim at the goals set at the company’s second Party congress, implement strict management and careful organization, and advance the project according to the plan, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of Zhongyan Hongsi Fang. The 50,000 tons per year dimethyl carbonate expansion project is currently a key project for Zhongyan Hongsi Fang; in August, it was included by the group company in its annual fixed asset investment plan. The project comprises three units: synthesis, compression, and distillation. The preliminary design for this project has been completed and approved by the group company. The construction drawings have been completed, the bidding process for the main equipment is almost finished, and the relevant materials required for the project have also entered the procurement process. The 50,000 tons/year dimethyl carbonate expansion project commenced as scheduled, marking the official start of the construction phase. It is reported that the project was completed and trial operations were carried out at the end of 2020.
