On June 24, the board of directors of Jiangxi Shilong Industry Co., Ltd. issued a statement announcing that the project for producing hydrogen peroxide, constructed using the company’s own funds with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons (27.5%) of hydrogen peroxide, has been completed and is now in the trial production phase. According to Song Xinmin, the executive vice general manager of Shilong Industry, an important feature of this project is that it makes full use of the excess hydrogen generated as a by-product of the company’s chlor-alkali plants. This helps to optimize the industrial structure and further extend the company’s product portfolio, marking a new milestone in the development of Shilong Industry’s circular economy initiatives. Song Xinmin told reporters that the total investment in this project is around 285 million yuan. The main factory building was completed in May 2019, and the installation team began work on site in August 2019. All the project workers overcame various difficulties, including the Spring Festival holiday and the COVID-19 pandemic, and completed all installation work by the end of April 2020. Since May 2020, the project has successfully completed tasks such as water-linked commissioning, preparation of working fluids, and installation of catalysts and fillers in the equipment, thereby enabling the successful start of pilot production of the facility. It is understood that the project for Shilong Industry to produce 200,000 tons per year of hydrogen peroxide (27.5%) is supported technically by Liming Chemical Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd., which is also responsible for the engineering design; the installation work for this project is carried out by the Second Branch of Hunan Industrial Equipment Installation Co., Ltd. The plant adopts a new fixed-bed hydrogen peroxide production process based on the anthraquinone method and a three-solvent working fluid system provided by Limingyuan. Significant technical advancements have been made in terms of the production capacity of a single unit, equipment design and selection, use of new catalysts, plant safety control, level of automation, and reduction in product consumption. It offers advantages such as high hydrogen efficiency, high oxidation yield, low amount of oxidation residues, high extraction concentration, low raffinate levels, reduced catalyst usage, and lower consumption of raw materials. Hydrogen peroxide, with the chemical name peroxides, is an important chemical product for environmental protection. It is referred to as the \"cleanest\" chemical product due to its ability to avoid causing secondary pollution. Used as green oxidants, disinfectants, bleaching agents, deoxidizers, polymerization initiators, and crosslinking agents, it is widely applied in industries such as papermaking, textiles, chemicals, military manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and food, offering great market potential.
