Ceremony for the Launch of China Western Hydrogen Valley (Yulin) Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park and Phase I of Huaqin Project Held Author/Source: HuaHua Network – Coal Chemicals Date: 10-17-2020 Clicks: 26 On the morning of October 15, the ceremony for the launch of China Western Hydrogen Valley (Yulin) Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park and Phase I of Huaqin Project was held in the Yuheng Industrial Park within the Yulin High-Tech Zone. Yulin City has taken the lead in establishing a complete technical and industrial chain for hydrogen production, storage, transportation, consumption, and equipment manufacturing, with the aim of creating a hydrogen industry cluster worth hundreds of billions. In recent years, the Yulin Municipal Party Committee and municipal authorities have earnestly implemented the new development concept, focusing on the high-quality transformation and upgrading of resource-based cities. They have made systematic plans and taken proactive steps to build a world-class high-end energy and chemical industry hub, thoroughly carrying out the \"12363\" strategy for the advancement of the coal chemical industry, and accelerating the establishment of a modern industrial system characterized by multiple support mechanisms and diversified development. “Especially since last year, the Yulin Municipal Party Committee and Government have launched a comprehensive effort to establish a national-level energy revolution innovation demonstration zone driven by an energy technology revolution, with coordinated progress in energy production, consumption, and institutional reforms. An important aspect of this initiative is to emphasize the pivotal role of hydrogen in the integration and combination of various energy sources; by doing so, a complete technical and industrial chain for hydrogen production, storage, transportation, consumption, and equipment manufacturing is being developed, with the goal of creating a hydrogen industry cluster worth hundreds of billions of yuan. ”Li Chunlin, mayor of Yulin, said that the city generates nearly 20 billion cubic meters of by-product hydrogen each year. It boasts advantages in terms of low costs for hydrogen production, as well as significant market potential driven by high industrial demand for hydrogen and the large scale of converting heavy trucks to use hydrogen. There is ample room for the development of the hydrogen industry in this region. Yulin has the foundation, the capabilities, and the determination to take the lead in filling the gap in the hydrogen industry in the western region. Zhe Shengyang, chairman of Shaanxi Huaqin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., said that the hydrogen energy industrial park, with Yulin Huaqin Technology Company as its leading enterprise, has a total planned investment of around 18 billion yuan and covers an area of 1,110 mu. It is intended to be developed over a period of ten years into a high-level hydrogen energy industry hub that encompasses the manufacturing of advanced hydrogen-related equipment, hydrogen production, operation, distribution, and comprehensive utilization. After the opening ceremony, the Western China Hydrogen Valley (Yulin) Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Summit Forum was held at the Yulin People’s Building. Academicians, experts from across the country, as well as representatives of companies involved in the hydrogen energy industry attended the forum. The academicians and experts delivered keynote speeches focusing on the development plan for the hydrogen energy industry in Yulin and an interpretation of the relevant policies, while also providing a detailed overview of the current research status and future prospects of hydrogen fuel.
