On January 6, 2020, a press conference regarding the “Jinhua Furnace” gasification platform was held at Shanxi Yangmei Chemical Machinery (Group) Co., Ltd. Building on the 16 achievements related to the Jinhua Furnace, Yangmei Group will take 9 measures to continue striving to become a world-class supplier in gasification and to develop advanced gasification platforms. 　　At the meeting, Li Guangmin, chairman of Yangmei Chemical Machinery, first unveiled 16 achievements, including: Jinhua furnace coal-water slurry gasification energy-saving technology ranking first among the energy-saving technologies for efficient and clean coal utilization; Henan Jindadi achieving the lowest ammonia production energy consumption in the industry, with the cost per ton of synthetic ammonia reduced by over 600 yuan; Yangmei Fengxi Quanji Energy Co., Ltd.’s Jinhua furnace gasification system setting a record of 247 days of continuous operation; the capability to process 60 gasification furnaces per year; and the construction of the world’s largest coal-water slurry water-cooled wall gasification furnace, capable of handling 2,350 tons of coal per day. 　　In response, Li Guangmin noted that Jinhua Furnaces has currently signed contracts with 25 companies for 56 units of such furnaces, of which 22 have been put into operation. These gasification furnaces are widely used in regions and for coal types such as \"the high-sulfur, high-ash, and high-carbon coal from Shanxi,\" \"the lignite from Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia,\" and \"the coal with high levels of sodium oxide and potassium oxide from Xinjiang.\" In 2019 alone, 10 new sets were contracted with companies such as Zhejiang Jinju Chemical Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Xiangyu Salt Chemical Co., Ltd., accounting for over 70% of the total new contracts signed. It has raised China’s coal gasification technology to an internationally leading level, found effective ways for the comprehensive utilization of high-carbon, high-sulfur, and high-ash coal across the country, and provided a Chinese solution for coal gasification technology to go global and serve the world. 　　In the future, the company will also introduce strategic partners to jointly establish Jinhua Gas Company, which will be responsible for the investment, construction, operation, and management of large-scale coal chemical gasification projects. It will continue to work closely with Tsinghua University to develop large-scale gasifiers with full heat recovery capabilities, capable of processing 3,000 tons of coal per day (the fourth-generation Jinhua Gasifier 4.0). The company will also develop intelligent manufacturing and operating systems for these gasifiers, further enhancing their level of automation. It will accelerate the use of methanol as a substitute for oil, seeking new breakthroughs in the field of coal-to-methanol production. By taking advantage of the Jinhua Gasifier’s ability to utilize high-sodium and high-potassium coal from Xinjiang, the company plans to widely deploy these gasifiers and related gasification systems in that region. Through these 9 measures, it aims to create new business models, evolving from a simple gasifier manufacturer into a provider of services related to the entire coal gasification industry chain, and from a supplier of technologies and equipment into a provider of services for the construction and operation of large-scale coal chemical parks. 　　Feng Zhiwu, the chief economist of Yangmei Group, as well as the chairman and general manager of Yangmei Chemical Industry Group, said that the operation model of the Jinhua furnace gasification unit will enable the use of this furnace to extend from Shanxi to across the whole country; it is more suitable for \"Chinese coal\" as well, and it will help promote Yangmei’s development model of coal chemical processing based on gasification, catalysis, and intelligence throughout the nation.
