Accelerated progress on Sino Salt Hongsi Fang’s 50,000-ton DMC expansion project. According to Sino Salt Hongsi Fang, in order to achieve the company’s goals for improved quality and efficiency in 2020 as well as fulfill its annual targets, the company decided to advance the completion date of the 50,000-ton/year DMC expansion project from May 2021 to January 2021. Led by the Development Technology Department, in collaboration with relevant departments such as the Production Center, the Safety and Environmental Protection Department, and the Supply Headquarters, a plan is being formulated in reverse order, with the goal of commencing operations on January 1, 2021. A detailed list of the remaining tasks is provided, covering the finalization of tasks prior to commencing operations, the special equipment that must be registered for use, as well as matters such as pressure pipeline approvals, obtaining a trial production license, and fire safety inspections. With October 26th set as the date for pressure testing, October 30th for purging, and the end of November as the target completion date, it is required that a trial production plan be submitted by early December, and that the inspection be passed by the end of December. The 50,000-ton/year dimethyl carbonate expansion project of Zhongyan Hong Sifang is an expansion built on a facility that already produces ethylene glycol from 300,000 tons/year of syngas, with dimethyl carbonate as a by-product. The expansion project includes three units: synthesis, compression, and distillation.
