On December 28, the first trial run of Phase 1 of the Yulin Circular Economy Coal Comprehensive Utilization Project of **Energy Group Yulin Chemical Industry (CTC-1 project) was successful; the entire process was operational, and MTO-grade methanol was produced successfully. This will provide a stable supply of methanol raw materials for Yulin Chemical’s downstream methanol processing projects, enhancing the company’s risk resistance. In 2020, the centralized lifting of equipment for the project began; in November, a meeting was held to mark the complete completion of the project. Trials and tests started in December, and at 15:06 on December 26th, the gasification furnace successfully processed coal for the first time. By 4:06 on December 28th, the entire process was operational, allowing methanol to be produced successfully. The CTC-1 project is a key construction project in Shaanxi Province; it is one of the **Energy Group’s ten key projects, and it represents the final project under the coal chemical sector’s 13th Five-Year Plan of the **Energy Group. The project is located in the northern area of the Qingshui Industrial Park, covering a total area of 133.4 hectares. It includes facilities for producing methanol from coal at a rate of 1.86 million tons per year, as well as facilities for producing ethylene glycol from syngas at a rate of 400,000 tons per year; in total, 4.4 million tons of coal are processed annually. The successful first trial run of the CTC-1 project represents a significant step in pursuing the new development strategy of \"one core and two wings,\" which is based on integrated coal chemical processing, with coal-based new fuels and materials serving as the two key components. This achievement lays a solid foundation for the company to get off to a good start during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and to pursue high-quality development.
