Recently, a signing ceremony took place between Yumen City in Gansu Province and Honggou Coal and Coke Co., Ltd. in Xiaoyi City, Shanxi Province, to establish a cooperation agreement for a project that involves the coal coking of 3 million tons of coal in Dongzhen, Yumen, with the production of 300,000 tons of methanol. Zhong Yingbing, **Deputy Mayor of Yumen City, attended the signing ceremony and signed a cooperation agreement with Song Quanzhu, Vice President of Honggou Coal and Coke Co., Ltd. in Xiaoyi City, Shanxi Province. ■ The total investment for this project is 6.95 billion yuan, with a planned land area of 130 hectares. It will be constructed in two phases, each featuring 2×70 coke ovens with a diameter of 6.25 meters; each phase will also include a dry quenching unit with a capacity of 180 t/h and a methanol production facility with an annual capacity of 150,000 tons. ■ Once the project is completed and put into operation, it is expected to generate annual sales revenue of over 10 billion yuan, create 1,500 new jobs, and yield tax revenues of 300 million yuan.
