Clicks: 9. Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd.’s 40 million tons/year integrated refining and chemical processing project was funded and constructed by Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. The project is located on Yushan Island in Daishan County, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, with a total refining capacity of 40 million tons per year. It will be built in two phases, with each phase planned to have a refining capacity of 20 million tons per year (including 5 million tons per year of aromatics) as well as a capacity of 1.4 million tons per year for ethylene, making it an integrated petrochemical complex. To supply hydrogen and fuel gas to refining and chemical plants, the project includes a coal-coke gas production unit that generates 200,000 Nm3/h of hydrogen and 480,000 Nm3/h of fuel gas. In addition, there is a methanol synthesis plant with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons, which is used to regulate the supply of hydrogen and fuel gas. On February 28, 2017, Hangzhou Linda Chemical Technology Engineering Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. regarding the use of patented technologies and the supply of patented equipment. This project utilizes LinDa’s proprietary patented technology for coil-type water-cooled reactors. The methanol synthesis process package is provided by Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Company, which employs the XNC-98 methanol synthesis catalyst. Production of the methanol synthesis reactor began in December 2017, and the entire unit was shipped to the site on December 8, 2018. On January 12, 2020, the 400,000 tons per year methanol synthesis unit of Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. was successfully put into operation. Due to limitations in the supply of upstream raw gas, production is currently maintained at half capacity, with a daily methanol output of 700 tons, a synthesis pressure of 5 MPa, and a peak temperature in the catalyst layer of 225 degrees. Based on the initial production data, the temperature difference in Linda’s coil-type methanol tower is very small, with an average cross-sectional temperature difference of less than 5 degrees. The actual pressure difference in the methanol synthesis system is less than 0.1 MPa. The successful commissioning of this synthesis tower lays a solid and stable foundation for breaking foreign technological monopolies and implementing large-scale methanol production capacities of 1 million tons per unit using domestic intellectual property rights.
