Nylon Technology: The first-phase technical upgrade project for caprolactam is progressing smoothly. Author/Source: Sinochem New Network. Date: 2021-07-22. Clicks: 11. “Now, the valve of the circulating water system in the ammonoxime unit is closed, and a pipe tee is installed to supply water to the newly added equipment.” It’s hot enough today! Brothers, give it your all! Finish it early so you can rest early. ”On the morning of July 15, at the site of the first-phase energy-saving and environmental-protection technology improvement and application project for caprolactam at China Pingmei Shennma Group’s Nylon Technology Company, technical supervisor Li Hui said to his colleagues. At the site of Nylon Technology Company’s first-phase energy-saving and environmental protection technology improvement and application project for caprolactam, the equipment has been installed, and the process pipelines are currently under pressure testing. Completion of the mechanical installations is expected by the end of July; after pipeline purging, individual equipment testing, system water testing, and instrument calibration, trial production can begin in October. The investment in this technological upgrade project amounts to 210 million yuan, with completion scheduled by the end of this year. After the project was implemented, Nylon Technology Company’s caprolactam production capacity for Phase 1 increased from 100,000 tons per year to 180,000 tons per year. By then, Nylon Technology Company’s total capacity for caprolactam production will increase to 400,000 tons per year. The company’s first-phase project for improving energy efficiency and environmental protection in caprolactam production involves building upon the caprolactam manufacturing process used in the first phase of the Nylon Technology Company. By carrying out technical research, innovation, and upgrades to key technologies and equipment, it is possible to enhance the production capacity of the product while maintaining its quality. This project involves modifications within the existing plant facilities; it is a \"zero-land\" transformation that requires less investment and enables rapid construction. It not only reduces the production costs of products but also significantly improves energy efficiency. The project construction mainly includes the first-phase caprolactam production facility, which encompasses processes such as oximation and wastewater pretreatment, concentration of caprolactam and waste liquids, sulfur ammonium production units and packaging, as well as various modifications. It also includes auxiliary and supporting facilities for the caprolactam production process, such as the intermediate tank area (under renovation), the power distribution substation in the southern area (under renovation), the analysis and control building in the southern area (under renovation), and outdoor facilities (under renovation). Increasing the production capacity of caprolactam not only brings substantial economic benefits to nylon technology companies, but also holds great strategic significance for the group and Pingdingshan City to take advantage of their resource strengths to further develop the nylon chemical industry, increase the supply of nylon products to meet domestic market demands, improve the industrial framework for nylon 6 and nylon 66, and enhance the resilience of nylon products against market risks.
