The CO2 desorption tower for the methanol unit in the Yushen coal-based ethanol project was successfully lifted into place. Author/Source: Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Yulin Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. Date: November 10, 2021. Clicks: 18. On November 5, the CO2 desorption tower at the methanol facility of the Yushen coal-based ethanol project was successfully installed in its proper position. At present, with the exception of the shifted gas scrubber tower (1401-T-001) which has not yet been installed, all 18 towers in the methanol plant have been hoisted into place, marking the entry of the equipment installation phase into its final stage. This C02 desorption tower features floating valve trays and is classified as a Class II pressure vessel; it is primarily used for separating CH3OH from C02. With a height of 70.7 meters and a diameter of 3.6 meters, its total weight is 207.5 tons, making it one of the key equipment in the purification system. The lifting is carried out using a 450-ton crawler crane as the main lift device, with a 260-ton crawler crane serving as an auxiliary device for guiding the load. During the lifting process, all personnel at each level were present and in their assigned positions. The tasks were divided and detailed according to the scheduled timing, allowing for efficient coordination and cooperation, which ultimately enabled safe lifting and precise positioning. The successful lifting of the C02 desorption tower (1401-T-002) provides a solid foundation for subsequent tasks such as pipeline connection and cable laying, thus laying a firm basis for the smooth handover of the facility.
