Green Development Alliance for MTO and Its Downstream Industry Chain Established Author/Source: Sinochem New Network Date: November 12, 2021 Clicks: 41 A Green Development Alliance for Methanol-to-Olefins (MTO) and its downstream industry chain was established in Guangzhou a few days ago. The alliance was initiated by Sinopec Guangzhou (Luoyang) Engineering Company, the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Lianhong New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.; it consists of 13 MTO and related downstream research institutions, engineering companies, and manufacturing enterprises. The alliance aims to further promote the transformation of high-tech achievements in the low-carbon olefins industry as well as the industrialization of advanced technologies, to facilitate the open sharing of scientific and technological resources, to establish extensive multi-level innovation cooperation mechanisms, and to continuously improve the level of green development in the MTO sector and its downstream industrial chains. At the founding conference of the alliance, Liu Zhongmin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected as the honorary president of the alliance. The Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Sinopec Guangzhou (Luoyang) Engineering Company, and Lianhong New Materials Company were chosen as the president units of the alliance. During the subsequent technical exchange, Academician Liu Zhongmin delivered a special lecture titled \"Research Progress on Methanol-to-Olefins Technology\"; experts such as design master Liu Yu discussed from various perspectives the latest technological advancements and key research directions related to MTO and its downstream industrial chains in the context of the \"dual carbon\" goals. The participants also discussed how to develop MTO and its downstream green development industrial chain.
