China’s first hydrogen peroxide production project with a yearly capacity of 150,000 tons and utilizing a phosphorus-free process has been successfully put into operation. Author/Source: ChemNet China. Date: January 12, 2022. Page views: 7. At 6 p.m. on the 6th, the hydrogen peroxide production project, which was invested in and constructed by Henan Lianchuang Chemical Co., Ltd. and utilizes China’s first phosphorus-free production system, was successfully commissioned on its first attempt. With the operation of the equipment, the first batch of qualified hydrogen peroxide products was successfully produced. It is understood that hydrogen peroxide is an important chemical product for environmental protection. Due to its characteristic of not causing secondary pollution, it is known as the \"cleanest\" chemical product, and can be widely used in industries such as textiles, papermaking, chemicals, military manufacturing, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and environmental protection, offering great market potential. In April 2021, the main building of this project was completed ; At the end of May of the same year, the equipment installation phase began. During this period, all the project workers overcame various difficulties such as flood conditions and the COVID-19 pandemic, and completed the equipment installation tasks in full by December. On January 2, 2022, the project successfully underwent trial production. From the early stages of project construction, the company set out to become a leader in the industry and establish itself as a benchmark. It adhered to a development path focused on high standards and sustainability, employed advanced production technologies, and introduced top-tier technical equipment from both domestic and international sources in order to reduce costs while meeting the requirements for minimizing emissions of waste materials and pursuing green development. “Currently, other hydrogen peroxide plants in China all use phosphoric acid as a stabilizing agent; however, our production process utilizes other acidic substances as substitutes, thus achieving phosphorus-free production for the first time in China. This not only reduces pollutant emissions but is also greener and more environmentally friendly. Additionally, in the production process, the oxidation step has been optimized by eliminating the need for an oxidation liquid pump; this results in a savings of 15 kWh per ton of hydrogen peroxide produced. ”That’s what the company’s technical staff said. Fine chemicals and new chemical materials are the main focus areas for the green transformation of China’s chemical industry at present. In recent years, Henan Lianchuang Chemical has adhered to the principle of “projects as the priority and innovation as the core”. Staying true to the new stage of development and implementing the new development philosophy, the company has been moving toward energy-efficient, clean, and low-cost raw materials and technological pathways, thereby continuously enhancing its core competitiveness. The project to produce 150,000 tons of hydrogen peroxide per year is a key manifestation of the company’s unwavering commitment to transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development. “As a chemical company, we generate a certain amount of hydrogen during the production of caustic soda; in the past, this hydrogen was used as fuel, resulting in low added value. ”The person in charge of the project to produce 150,000 tons of hydrogen peroxide per year at Henan Lianchuang Chemical introduced it in this way. Once this project is completed and put into operation, the enterprise will use the hydrogen produced as a by-product to manufacture hydrogen peroxide, thereby extending the industrial chain and making full use of hydrogen resources – which meets the requirements of clean production, energy conservation and emission reduction, as well as the development of a circular economy. With the improvement of people’s living standards and growing environmental awareness, the application areas of hydrogen peroxide will continue to expand. For instance, its use in aseptic packaging within the food processing industry, as well as in the cosmetics industry, industrial wastewater treatment, gas scrubbing, and disinfection is expected to increase. “Next, we will gradually refine industrial-grade hydrogen peroxide products further, develop electronic-grade products, promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry, and strive for continuous development in the directions of greener and higher-quality solutions. ”The project leader said. Henan Lianchuang Chemical will continue to focus on the green development of the chemical industry, increase investment in research and development, promote the transformation of scientific achievements, and strive for a win-win situation both in terms of economic performance and environmental protection.
