At 16:39 on December 24, 2021, the ammonia synthesis relocation and renovation project carried out under the EPC contract by this company passed the 72-hour performance test, operating at an average load of 106.62% in a stable and uninterrupted manner. All indicators related to energy consumption, production volume, and environmental protection met or exceeded the performance requirements specified in the contract, prompting the client to send a congratulatory message. As the first EPC turnkey project of China’s Fifth Ring Road to utilize coal slurry gasification technology for the production of synthetic ammonia, the Yunhua’an project has received great attention from the company since its commencement; technical experts have been sent to the project site on multiple occasions to provide scientific guidance for its construction. The Yunhua An project team overcame various constraints such as site handover, the pandemic, and flood risks. By adapting to local conditions and facing challenges head-on, they carried out thorough planning and took multiple measures. Working together with the project owner and all participating parties, they worked day and night to resolve numerous difficulties swiftly and effectively, thus achieving all project objectives on schedule. This demonstrated China Wuhuan’s leading expertise in the fields of gasification and synthetic ammonia plant construction. The Yunhua’an project is the first EPC turnkey project in China’s Fifth Ring Road for ammonia production via coal slurry gasification using coal as raw material. With a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan, it is located in the Tiantown Industrial Park in Wuque City, Hubei Province. It involves the production of syngas from coal, and includes key units such as air separation, gasification, ammonia synthesis, and sulfur recovery, along with the supporting utility systems. The project utilizes a new type of multi-nozzle water-coal slurry high-pressure gasification technology, achieving a carbon conversion rate of 99%. It also employs internationally advanced coal purification technologies, resulting in an effective dry-basis composition of the output gas at 89%, which **reduces energy consumption in subsequent processing stages**. The project is constructed by Shihua Construction Company, and the construction work includes the construction of coal slurry preparation systems, coal slurry feeding systems, gasification units, flash vaporization frameworks, vacuum filter frameworks, internal utility tunnels, storage and transformation substations, as well as facilities for the storage and transportation of raw materials and coal.
