The EMC project for the recovery and utilization of the sensible heat from the waste gas generated by 4.3-meter coke ovens at Shaanxi Shanjiao Chemical Co., Ltd. is progressing smoothly. Author/Source: Shaanxi Shanjiao Chemical Co., Ltd. Date: August 21, 2020. Clicks: 8. The EMC project, carried out in partnership with Shaanxi Yuteng Industrial Co., Ltd., is located in the area next to the 4.3-meter coke ovens in Workshop 1 for coke production. Since its commencement on March 20, 2020, and with the support of the company’s management at all levels as well as the cooperation of relevant departments, tasks such as the construction of a 6.5-meter-high concrete frame structure for the waste heat recovery unit, the installation of supporting equipment, and electrical installations have been completed by August 15, 2020. The sensible heat utilization device primarily uses a rising tube heat exchanger with a seamless tube structure. By preventing leaks caused by uneven weld stresses, a high-temperature molten material at temperatures above 2700°C is applied to the inner wall of the rising tubes; this allows it to function in complex raw gas environments with temperatures ranging from 500 to 1500°C, and it also prevents the rising tubes from deforming or leaking due to high-temperature oxidation ; On the other hand, installing a special structural expansion joint in the middle of the rising tube can eliminate the damage caused by periodic thermal stresses inside and outside the rising tube, and prevent leaks in the waste heat recovery device of the rising tube from leading to damage to the furnace wall; this represents the best solution for recovering the sensible heat from the coke oven off-gases. The supporting facilities and system arrangements for this project involve modifying the risers in 4.3 m2×50-chamber coke ovens; one set of two 4.3m coke ovens is equipped with 2×50 riser heat recovery units designed to capture the sensible heat from the waste gas from these risers. These units generate 59,500 tons per year of saturated steam at a pressure of 0.5–0.7 MPa, which is used in chemical processing operations, coal humidification, heating, and other applications. It is reported that this project not only makes use of the steam generated as a by-product of the sensible heat recovery unit, but also improves the working conditions for coke oven operators. It represents a meaningful measure taken by the company to fulfill its commitment to **energy conservation and emission reduction, contributing to the company’s sustainable and environmentally friendly development.
New technologies deserve to be promoted! Energy conservation and emission reduction are the way forward!
What kind of material is it that can be melted at temperatures above 2700℃? Could you share that information?
Many years ago, I saw a rising tube for recovering the sensible heat of heat transfer oil at Jiugang
Yuteng is not the provider of the process package: L
Will the temperature inside the rising tube decrease, resulting in material caking? Will there be no changes in the ammonia spraying process thereafter?
