In recent years, Qianxi Chemical has taken concrete actions to achieve low-carbon and green development; it has focused on energy savings and consumption reduction, implemented refined management practices, and strived for efficiency in electricity management. The company has also explored ways to reduce costs by tapping into its internal potential, as well as adopted new technologies and models to save energy and reduce consumption. Efforts to save steam are showing initial results. After the major plant overhaul in 2021, the total steam consumption of the plant during operation reached 450 tons per hour; the high steam usage led to persistently high costs. Qianxi Chemical reduces steam consumption by means of technical upgrades and optimizing the operation mode of systems: the steam power plant carries out technical upgrades to recover steam condensate from desulfurization units and channel it to the deaerator; the ethylene glycol plant adjusts the operating conditions of its distillation units; and the purification plant increases the volume of by-product gas produced in line with the volume of process gas. On the other hand, reduce the flow of steam drains and water traps, and strengthen the oversight of steam venting management in order to minimize unnecessary waste of steam. Through the implementation of various measures, the company’s production facilities have managed to save more than 40 tons of steam per hour, thereby improving the efficiency of steam usage. This results in a savings of 3,392 tons of standard coal per month, which in turn reduces production costs by over 4 million yuan. Optimize the wastewater treatment device. In August 2021, efforts were made to address the issue of treating high-salt wastewater from the ethylene glycol plant. Through microbial cultivation of the wastewater and collection of relevant operational data, as well as optimization of the system, it was possible to achieve the goal of handling all of the high-salt wastewater from this plant by February 10, 2022. The discharge standards for environmental protection were also met. A total of 64,800 cubic meters of such wastewater was treated, thereby resolving the bottlenecks associated with production and environmental protection. Additionally, the multi-effect evaporation units at the ethylene glycol plant were shut down, resulting in savings of 373,000 yuan per month in electricity and steam costs. Pay close attention to power-saving management. After passing the safe operation assessment, the steam power plant shut down 1 return air fan, 1 oxidation fan, and 1 boiler feed pump, saving 637,800 yuan in electricity costs per month ; After the renovation, one circulating water pump at the 404A circulation station and two circulating water pipeline pressure pumps at the gasification plant were upgraded, resulting in monthly electricity cost savings of 191,500 yuan. Ensure the long-term safe and stable operation of the device. The plant actively engaged with similar units and related manufacturers to exchange technical insights, analyzed the challenges that affected the long-term operation of boilers and gasifiers. Through various technical upgrades and system optimizations, as well as improved maintenance practices such as regular inspections and repairs of on-site equipment, and by enhancing staff training to improve operational skills, the plant managed to reduce the number of times operations had to be halted or scaled back due to errors. By taking multiple measures simultaneously, it succeeded in ensuring the safe and stable operation of the units for 263 days, with individual boilers operating for 267 days and individual gasifiers operating for 245 days – the best operational records since the unit was put into operation in May 2018.
